Your Local, Traditional Mole Catcher in Sussex

Welcome

Welcome to the website of your local, reliable mole catcher. Working throughout Sussex, Mole Magicians undertake work on all types of land including gardens, farms, small holdings, golf courses and sports grounds.

It's quite rare to see a mole above ground, but you'll know if you've got a problem as you'll see mounds of dirt appearing on your land. Molehills are created as the mole digs out a system of tunnels below the surface and the excavated soil is deposited above the ground. Sometimes, when a mole is very close to the surface, you may also see tracks of dirt. Moles dig tunnels to find food as they go and enjoy worms, beetle larvae, slugs etc.

Active during both day and night, moles feed for around 4 hours and then rest for a similiar period. In just one day, a busy mole can tunnel around 200 metres and turf up numerous mole hills along the way.

In order to stay alive, a mole needs to eat around half its body weight in earthworms etc. every day. If they cannot collect enough food from their current tunnel, they'll simply start a new one.

Moles breed between February and June and this typically results in a litter of 2-7 offspring, with an average of 4. At around 5 weeks old, the young will leave their mother and set off to find their own territory. The majority of moles live around 3 years, but can live up to 6.

I contacted the Mole Magicians after what seemed like an army of moles took up residence in one of our horse fields. James was responsive, efficient and very knowledgeable about wildlife management. I found him highly professional. A job well done!
